There are even video games and art inspired by him. Since then, the word-of-mouth stories inspired by Slender Man have spread across the world. The first appearance of Slender Man was immediately popular due to his appearance next to a child and strange captions. Knudson won the 2009 Photoshop competition when he added Slender Man to his portfolio.
